2008 IPv6 SUMMIT: PHILIPPINES MOVING FORWARD TO IPv6

The Advanced Science and Technology Institute (ASTI), along with the IPv6 Forum Philippines and Philippine Network Operator Group (PhNOG) invite you to the very first IPv6 Summit to be held on May 21-22,2008 at the Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila. Coincidentally, the “3rd PhNOG Meeting” will also be held during this event.

This event unites the Philippine Internet Community in pushing forth the Internet Protocol Version 6 (IPv6), the latest advancement of the IP technology seen to answer the global issue of IPv4 depletion.

New Instance of DNS Root Server Deployed in Philippines

The Philippine Open Internet Exchange (PHOpenIX) announces that the I-root is now operational and answering DNS Top Level Domain(TLD) queries on the exchange. This is made possible through the partnership with Packet Clearing House, Asia Pacific Network Information Center (APNIC), and Autonomica/Netnod.

2ND SESSION ON PHILIPPINE OPEN INTERNET EXCHANGE

After the successful tutorial on BGP Multi homing Techniques and The Design and Construction of Local and Regional Exchange Facilities, and the launching of PHOpenIX last January 26, 2007, the IX Operators will conduct another session on PHOpenIX. This will coincide with the one-day activity to be conducted by the Advanced Science and Technology Institute (ASTI) on July 18, 2007.

The session will cover topics on technical advantages, requirements and the costs connecting to PHOpenIX. The group will present the tools and policies used to ensure reliability and accuracy of routes received from the exchange peers. Services available at the exchange useful to our local internet will also be introduced. Engineers and operational staff at ISPs and other network operators who are planning to connect to PHOpenIX will benefit from this session.
